Yamaha does not make cruise controls available for the FJR. There are a couple choices out there, including the nearly $600 MCCRUISE. The Audiovox CCS-100 is only about $100 and although time consuming to install, it is well worth the trouble. The manual for the system can be found in many places online. Here's one:

So the next thing to do is get a cruise control, not only for cruising, but to rest my arm. A throttle lock (vista cruise) can do the same thing, but I wanted real cruise. Yamaha makes a system for the FJR, but I think it's about $700 to add it. I bought an Audiovox system that hooks into vacuum ports in the engine for about $100.

As Mike mentioned above, we install a German designed Rostra cruise on 2006 and later FJR's. It is a fully electronic system with no vacuum hoses or lines. The control unit mounts under the front seat, and the switch mounts above the left switch control. We can fit the clutch model FJR's from 2006 on, but the AE models are 2007 up only.
