Opinions on the Zaph Audio ZRT Revelator Towers

I bought the drivers and crossover from Madisound. For the cabinets, I bought the Denovo Audio Knock-Down 1.16 cu. ft. tower cabinets from Parts Express because I don't have table saw. The Denovo cabinets are bit smaller than the Zaph spec, (1.33 cu.ft), so I adjusted the length of the vent using Bass Box Pro. The result is great.

I was put on to Zaph Audio's 'ZRT' Revelator Towers by Madisound's kit for those speakers. Zaph's very comprehensive web pages for these speakers satisfied me they just might be up to my DIY goal of replacing my Maggies. The ZRT designs were for both 2 …

Re: Zaph Audio ZRT 2 way Revelator Tower, Opinions? We heard it at the InDIYana event. Very nice, but the system did require tweaking in the bass alignment and XO (less BSC), since the woofer specs have changed somewhat since the original design was put out. Build your own cabinet (I'm sure you will Nik ;) ) as the Mad cabinet is a bit wimpy.

ZRT2.5 Revelator vs Mini Statements
http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php?40781-ZRT2-5-Revelator-vs-Mini-Statements
A better comparison would perhaps be the mini statements to Zaph's own ZDT3.5. Both designs use the same bass drivers and then use a small format midrange driver, crossed relatively high to the tweeter. As Zaph says himself, in, this, in and of itself, lends itself to a different type of sound, over the typical 2 way with a 1" dome and 6.5 ...
