Re: ZMV5 is GO! I had been toying around with a number of my own designs to the point of putting a BOM together. And just before Zaph posted his project, I hit that may be I should consider reducing my driver costs and even posts a couple of threads asking for opinions.

This might not belong in this group, but I'm practically sold on Zaph's ZMV5 speaker design. My only reservation is building the crossover myself. Zaph notes all the parts needed by little instruction. I'll have to do a bit more reading but if his design is what I need, matching the crossover will be well worth it.

Zaph|Audio - ZD5 - Scan Speak 15W8530K00 and Vifa XT25 ... and have adjusted my ZMV5's to achieve this. Previous to this adjustment, I had similar concerns about midrange weight. Tilting the top end down brought out the midrange presence that I wanted.
